Branding at trade shows is the easiest way to gain publicity at a trade show. The more that you can stand out from every other booth the more success you will have.

Thanks for this great info Nancy, you bring some true wisdom to this subject. I especially like the tips you give to exhibitors. Having your booth decorated properly with relevant PR is a great way to show potential clients that others believe in your product or service and that you are known to mainstream media and other similar clientele.

Speaking of "make your trade show a social one," I recently read a blog post about a new online web application for trade shows that is growing in popularity. The app is called EventMingle, and it's designed to enable participants to meet, interact, and plan prior to arriving to tradeshows and other events. The application is gaining users every week in the trade show industry and has recently been incorporating social networking capabilities into much of the trade show planning process. It now uses Twitter to enable trade show participants to post profiles, messages, and invites to thousands of trade show enthusiasts with the same interests. Has anyone used the app yet? Here's the post: http://trade-show-promotion.blogspot.com/2009/08/how-twitter-and-eventmingle-can-help.html
