Hi Joyce - Another one you might want to think about for trade shows is Twittervision. You're able to see where the other Twitterers are when they Twitter. Being able to see the location of other Twitterers before and after the event adds some interest and information unavailable in Twitter alone. There's also potential for seeing your proximity to others you're Twittering with at an event. As far as I know, though, the ability to upload an event-specific map is still in the future. http://twittervision.com/

On Twittering making speakers uncomfortable: I've had a few folks twitter in sessions I've facilitated. It was irritating until I realized that the very same people would have otherwise been disturbing others with whispering (or even talking on their phones). I came to feel grateful that Twitter keeps them silent.

I can not begin to tell you how true this post is!

Not to long ago, I learned about a fantastic product that I referred to somebody! That person is now making a handsome profit off the product!

To tell you the truth, I did not notice the product until the person exhibiting saw me and said "Hello, how often do you work with wires?"

It just went from there!

At another trade show I was working at, I had noticed one booth getting a high amount of traffic. Interested in their method, I hung around there to see what they were doing.

The people working at the booth simply greeted people that were passing by that is all! If they received a hello back, then the exhibitor went on to ask questions such as "What kind of store do you own?"

It worked like a charm!

hi Joyce, another good post. Follow up is all to often overlooked after the trade show, but if you don't call your prospect, they won't call you! I like the idea of thinking of it as business manners - like writing thank you cards and saying hello in the morning. When you make a contact at a trade show and tell them you'll call them, it is bad manners not to follow up on your word. BTW, I'll be back (to quote The Terminator). I give you my word! ~ Steve, Pinnacle Trade Show Displays

[...] Quality—Not Volume—of Booth Traffic Spells Tradeshow Success (Part I) - Hook the big fish before the show starts.
Hi Joyce -

Good article!

Many of us tend to think of follow-up as hounding people, but the truth is that you're right. Doing it demonstrates a level of professionalism that sends a message (or doesn't, as the case may be).

Love the way you start of chain of directing viewers to take actions by doing the next small task on your site. Very effective!

Looking forward to more.
