On Being Remarkable In The Trade Show World…
By Joyce McKee | January 24, 2008
One of the blogs I check on a regular basis is Seth Godin’s blog.
My affection for him started with his book, the Purple Cow. And the main point of being REMARKABLE has stuck with me ever since.
I am always questioning – how can this be remarkable? That standard now affects this work – Let’s Talk Trade Shows.
Let’s Talk Trade Shows is just starting out – desiring to engage with the trade show world and have a conversation. These conversations eventually build a community. And the community can help one another. There can be many forms of what this “help” looks like.
It excites me to envision what is possible. But every great journey starts with the first step. Our first step is this blog. I look forward to sharing the ideas that might have an impact on your business life.
I want to be a remarkable resource for you.
In today’s Seth Godin blog, he starts talking about a concept of layering. He says:
“Layering Here’s what we used to do:
Create —> Edit —> LaunchHere’s what happens now:
Create —> Launch —> Edit —> Launch —> repeatSomeone asked me which post on this blog represented the turning point of its growth. The ‘breakthrough’ post. It turns out that there wasn’t one. Instead, there were 2,500 posts, one after the other, each building (and I was learning from each) as we went.”
One blog entry upon another – layering that causes change.
So in my quest for being remarkable, I will follow the pattern of a master and produce these blogs entries. I am looking for feedback and conversation – so please join me in this journey.
Until next time…
Joyce McKee
